Peter Taylor has been a valued member of the business community for many years, having served in various positions including President, Chief Technical Officer, Vice President, and more recently as the Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Shaw Communications Inc. His career commenced in Melbourne, Australia, after completing his studies at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). He later attended and graduated from a Systems Technology Diploma program after his 3 years in law enforcement. In late 1989, Peter moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada where he would be successful in the creation and development of several value-added reseller and consulting practices, all being acquired by other company’s due to their individual successes. Peter has personally provided consulting services to many Fortune 500 companies in various geographical regions, including Australia, Canada, the United States and the Caribbean.
Over his diverse and lengthy career, Peter has actively pursued educational opportunities, focusing on customer service, technical, financial, leadership and business-related topics. In May of 2018, Peter received his MBA from Queen’s University, Smith School of Business. In addition to his YouthLink board position, Peter is a member of the board of directors at the YMCA Calgary, Keywork Labs Inc., and also serves on the Muraho Technology Advisory Board based out of Kigali, Rwanda.
Having grown up in a military family, Peter served for 10 years in the Australian Army Reserve, during which time he was assigned to various full-time duties, ranging from weeks to months in duration. Peter has a reputation as an innovative transformational leader, focused on growing business through productivity, effective and efficient process, enablement of technology and the power of people.
