“Twisted Love” with Dave Sweet

  • A special Valentine’s Day presentation by Dave Sweet, author and Homicide Detective. “Twisted Love” takes the audience where emotions have turned deadly and into the life of a homicide detective where love exists in many challenging and beautiful forms.
  • 1-hour presentation in an intimate setting (60 people per presentation with time for Q & A with Sweet).
  • 3 times available: 6:30 pm, 7:45 pm, 9:00 pm (you will be asked to select your presentation time when making your booking).

 

Mugshot Tinder

It’s the game of love, featuring some of Calgary’s most refined criminals from the early 1900’s.

 

Blood Spatter Photo Booth

(You will stay clean!).

 

True Crime and Partner Challenges

Nothing says “love” like police work with your favourite partner(s). Enjoy multiple activities featuring real-world forensic science and detective work.

 

Tarot Card Readings

When one of your museum staff members can also read Tarot Cards, you add them to an event about love! Step right up to get the answers you’re seeking.

 

Food and Bevies (not included in your ticket purchase)

  • Cash Bar: A selection of wines, domestic beer and non-alcoholic drinks.
  • Treats and goodies: Keep the vibe going with an assortment of pre-package light snacks (chips, chocolate, cheese and meat trays, nuts, hummus and crackers).
  • Cost for these items is extra – we take cash, credit and debit.

 

Opportunities to Support Your Calgary

  • Gems for Gems booth and donation opportunity. In the spirit of love, donate any gently used jewelry to this incredible initiative. Each item will be cleaned, packaged and given as a gift to a woman who has experienced domestic abuse and is currently residing in a Calgary shelter.  These donations represent a sign of hope and support from community for women who are finding the strength to leave a dangerous life behind.
  • All proceeds from this event support YouthLink’s Calgary-wide youth crime prevention programs – thank you for taking part.

Evening’s Schedule

  • Doors will open at 6:15 pm at the YouthLink Calgary building (please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled presentation time).
  • “Twisted Love”, 1-hour special presentations by Dave Sweet will run at 6:30 pm, 7:45 pm, 9:00 pm.
  • Doors close at 10:00 pm (be sure to allow at least an hour to explore the exhibits, take part in activities, grab a drink at the cash bar and mingle with fellow true crime lovers).

Dave Sweet returns, with a talk that will send chills across the audience. A man that knows death better than most; we’ll discuss topics including near death experiences, hauntings, “bad” feelings, rituals, spiritual beliefs, the role of psychics in investigations and unexplained occurrences he’s had while on the job.

Unfold real case files, from lucky breaks to the unexplained. Be prepared for everything and anything. Be prepared to be scared.
